Winter 2010 Calendar of Events


The doors of Otahuna Lodge will be opened to the public this winter for an exceptional series of “first-time-ever” events at the property.  During the months of July, August and September 2010, Otahuna is offering a unique calendar of events that showcase both the property and its internationally celebrated food and wine programme under the direction of prominent Executive Chef Jimmy McIntyre.

Over the winter, Otahuna Lodge will offer local guests unique insights into its food and wine programme during three exclusive cooking demonstration lessons.  These lessons—limited to a maximum of only ten guests each—will offer participants the chance to learn first-hand cooking secrets and practical techniques from celebrated Executive Chef Jimmy McIntyre.  Classes will incorporate a visit to Otahuna’s vast organic potager gardens and a complimentary lunch with wine so that participants have the opportunity not only to learn but also to savour the fruits of their hard work.

Kick off the winter blues with this refreshing and inspirational class.  Spring is full of fresh textures and vibrant colours.  Let them shine through in your cuisine.  Dishes may include:

Private Group Dining at Otahuna Lodge
Throughout July, August and September 2010

Over the winter months, Otahuna Lodge provides the perfect venue for small groups from six to fourteen to celebrate a special occasion in the property’s sumptuous and exclusive ambience.  Upon arrival guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the Entry Hall and Drawing Rooms.  Guests are then invited to experience one of the property’s famed five-course degustation menus at a private table in the opulent formal Dining Room with its glorious wooden fireplace and original 1895 wallpaper.  Following dinner, guests may retire to the Drawing Room for coffee or after-dinner liqueurs before departing the Lodge or retiring to one of its seven luxurious suites.
